The constituency MSP for Lochaber has voiced her concern after Stagecoach announced it is to review all of its operations in the area.
Kate Forbes MSP has secured a meeting later this week with the bus operator’s managing director for the north of Scotland, to discuss Stagecoach’s future plans.
Earlier today (21 February) the company said it “cannot sustain the current operation”.
Kate Forbes MSP said: “I am aware of Stagecoach’s review of operations in Lochaber and I will be speaking to the Managing Director Mark Whitelocks later this week to discuss the matter further.
“Bus services are vital in Lochaber because not everybody has a car and also because we need to get more people onto public transport.
“I will be tracking this review carefully and sincerely hope that it might lead to better services, instead of poorer provision.”
