Dingwall MSP helps to celebrate 20th anniversary of town’s Gaelic services

Dingwall MSP Kate Forbes was amongst the guests from across Ross-shire as they recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of Gaelic services in the market town.

Currently services are held once a month in Dingwall Community Centre on Tulloch Street.

To mark the special anniversary occasion Rev Callum Macleod of Shawbost Free Church on the Isle of Lewis was the guest preacher.

Kate Forbes MSP said: “Congratulations to the ministers and attendees of the monthly Dingwall Gaelic service.

“It was a pleasure to join over 40 other people in Dingwall Community Centre to celebrate the 20th anniversary service.

“Apart from the delicious cake and the thought-provoking sermon, I enjoyed the friendly camaraderie afterwards.

“The Dingwall Gaelic service allows people to praise God and hear his word in their native language.

“It is a shame that there are not more opportunities to do that, but I pay credit to the organisers of the Dingwall Gaelic service for their commitment to that.

“All are welcome, and I’d warmly encourage others to attend on the first Sunday of every month at 3pm in Dingwall Community Centre.”
