Dingwall MSP is grilled by pupils at her old high school

Last week the constituency MSP for Dingwall went back to her old high school to meet with senior pupils at Dingwall Academy.

For an hour Kate Forbes MSP met with the S5 and S6 Modern Studies class to discuss the workings of the Scottish Parliament, life as a constituency MSP, elections and the budget.

Questions ranged from the effectiveness of social media as a means of communication with the electorate, to who is Kate’s least favourite MSP in the Holyrood chamber.

Kate Forbes MSP said: “I visited Dingwall Academy and spoke to the S5/S6 Modern Studies class for the second year running.

“I shared a little bit about my own political journey, as well as how my job is split between the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and travelling around the constituency.

“The pupils all had questions, most of which revolved around my experience of politics.

“I reckon there is a number of budding politicians in these classes, judging by the quality of their questions and their knowledge. It’s always good to visit my alma mater, even if it’s a different building!”
