Budding photographers from the Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency have the unique opportunity to showcase their work at Scottish Parliament as the prize in a new competition run by Kate Forbes MSP.
After the success of the annual Christmas Card design competition which attracts hundreds of school pupils every year, the MSP wanted to encourage people of all ages to get creative and engage with the Parliament.
The Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch MSP has said budding snappers of all ages and abilities are welcome to enter, with entries fitting the theme of ‘made in the Highlands’.
Kate Forbes MSP explained: “I am keen to encourage budding photographers of all ages and stages, and I thought this competition would provide one of them with a new platform.
“One of the drawbacks of this job is that I’ve got to spend a lot of time away from home, and so my walls are covered with images and scenes from the Highlands.
“There is one notable space, though, which I’d like to fill with some cracking photography. Plenty of people visit my office every week and often comment on the pictures and so I thought it would be nice to showcase some home grown talent on the walls.
“All are welcome to take part and I look forward to seeing the entries.”
All entries can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org and the competition has a closing date of Monday 18 March at 12 noon. Finalists will be announced the next day.
