The constituency MSP for Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh will next week host 14 surgeries over six days as she enters into the second week of her summer constituency tour.
Kate Forbes MSP will visit both of Skye’s hospitals, meet with the island’s four local councillors to discuss school and roads infrastructure, and see how work has progressed on tourism infrastructure projects.
Ms Forbes will also attend the community celebration event at the Fairy Pools, marking the acquisition of the 12.3 ha from Forest Enterprise Scotland.
Kate Forbes MSP said: “It’s a packed week in Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh, as I meet local people and discuss the issues that matter.
“I am keen to hear about people’s concerns, as that’s my primary job, but also to celebrate progress that’s been made since last summer.
“There is so much happening across the area, whether it’s developments in health services or growth in tourism.
“Last year, the big issues were Portree Hospital and pressures on tourism infrastructure.
“Since then, the Ritchie report has been published and two Skye community groups have benefited from the Tourism Infrastructure Fund.
“I will be visiting Portree and Broadford Hospitals, as well as joining the community celebrations at the Fairy Pools.
“It’s always great to get out and meet people who I’ve not met before. I want to ensure that everybody’s voices are heard.”
