Constituency MSP Kate Forbes has welcomed the official opening of the revamped North Kessock ticket office – which had been lying dormant for several years.
The former ferry terminal, which boast fantastic views across the Beauly Firth, has been brought back into community use by a group of local volunteers.
It now boasts a viewing space complete with high quality binoculars and spotter telescope to check out the wildlife, a meeting space for groups, a small exhibition detailing how ferries crossed the Inverness Firth since the 15th century, and coin-operated toilets with 24/7 access for the general public.
On Saturday (3 November) Kate Forbes MSP spoke at a short ceremony marking the occasion.
The Black Isle MSP said: “I was delighted to be at the officially opening the North Kessock ticket office.
“A lot of hard work has been invested locally to bring us to this day.
“I was happy to support the project earlier and now to see it ready to be used is excellent news.”
